Bio: Richard Tembo is 41 years old. He is a Malawian working with Positive Steps Malawi at the moment. He is a holder of a degree in Social Sciences (Economics and Social Work) He has over 12 years-experience working in sustainable development for different stakeholders in the private investment, public sectors, the civil society and the donor His key areas of expertise include Climate change (adaptation and mitigation): project cycle management with Logical Framework Analysis (LFA) and program/project identification, formulation, evaluation of projects (ex-ante, interim, ex-post, etc) including the application of Results Oriented Monitoring (ROM). Good knowledge and familiarity with institutional policies, national policies, donor policies, procedures and principles of coordination, harmonization and alignment of aid for combating climate change in Sub-Saharan Region. Richard Tembo has strong skills in quantitative and qualitative research and analytical tools with good experience in conducting reviews, appraisal and evaluation of programs/projects using the OECD-DAC criteria (relevance/appropriateness, effectiveness, efficiency, impact and sustainability along with very good report writing skill). With post graduate training in agricultural economics, climate change national adaptation and mitigation policy development, sustainable development, water resource management and energy and power generation. He has worked on critical issues on water and agriculture, land use management (tropical forests, wetlands, grasslands) and rural conditions in Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania and Mozambique with good experience in the areas of tropical forest conservation and management including participatory Forest Management (PFM) and forest product marketing, climate change livelihoods, water and sanitation and food security, safety net and social protection, disaster risk management and humanitarian emergency.
